{"id":3671,"date":"2012-01-04T20:37:24","date_gmt":"2012-01-05T02:37:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/atalantarising.surly.org\/?p=3671"},"modified":"2012-01-04T20:37:24","modified_gmt":"2012-01-05T02:37:24","slug":"a-curious-thing-to-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atalantarising.surly.org\/?p=3671","title":{"rendered":"A Curious Thing to Me"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two things: I really liked taking this picture and it has nothing to do with the post, but it feels wrong making an entry without a picture now.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/60141310@N00\/6638262615\/\" title=\"P1010258 by banjobear, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7026\/6638262615_6a15cf3662.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"P1010258\"><\/a><br \/>\nI spent some time on the phone with my local governments&#8217; code enforcement office, and yet again, apparently &#8220;Everything I Want to Do Is [still] Illegal&#8221;.    <\/p>\n<p>So here is the curious thing to me, the general public is all fired hot for &#8220;local food&#8221;, I live in the second or third hottest spot for the new &#8220;local food&#8221; movement -Wisconsin being top dog- except for the fact they don&#8217;t actually want to, you know&#8230;live&#8230;anywhere nearby the food while it&#8217;s being raised.  <\/p>\n<p>Seems to me that they only want it as close as the nearest Costco, in neat 20 pound vacuum packed freezer bags.  <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m too depressed about my latest effort being shot down to say anything else other than this: &#8220;Mama&#8217;s don&#8217;t let your babies grow up to be cowboys [Well they&#8217;re always at home and stuck on the phone, usually with some government wank]&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Excuse me while I go beat my head into a wall some more and consider again taking up Scrap Booking instead.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two things: I really liked taking this picture and it has nothing to do with the post, but it feels wrong making an entry without a picture now.
